A mentor gave me that advice when I was acquiring the first airplane for a company I had recently joined.

The stakes were high both personally and professionally as this was a big financial step for both the company and for me as the newly minted Chief Pilot.

I won’t say I didn’t make a mistake or 2 but all in all it was a great purchase for the company and a useful business tool.   The payout for the CEO and the CFO was a nice profit when we sold. (I will admit I gave that King Air a hug on the nose and thanked it for the good education when I left her for the new owner)

The personal payout was meeting the new owner 3 years later and having him say, “I love that airplane, you did a great job as caretaker.”

I’ve taken that experience to heart in every transaction since, “buy it right and it’s halfway sold.”

Purchasing “right” isn’t just financial, it is finding the best airplane for, you and the mission.

At Gold Coast Aviation, we take the time to address the concerns of you and your team.  We want the CEO and the CFO to know they are fully supported throughout the entire transaction.

That takes integrity, transparency, accountability and great communication.

Please let us know how we can help you with your next transaction.
